Explanation of Slide-Out Parts that Need Lubrication
I wanted to go over the lubrication process of the Schwintek In-Wall Slide System. To give you a little overview and a better understanding of what we’re trying to lubricate here, I want to just take this mechanism apart. We’re lubricating two different parts here. The first part we’re lubing is called the gib. The gib is what this bearing block is riding on. We have contact there, so we want to make sure that we get good lubrication there. We’re also moving the coupler. The coupler rides inside this bearing block, and it’s this round piece right in here. We want to make sure that we get that coated well—coated with lubrication as well. We’re going to be accessing it, when it’s on the motor home, through the flap. And we’ll show you that next.

Now using CRC power lube with PTFE, and it’s very important that we use this lubrication [Update: Lippert Components now recommends using Kwikee® KwikLube]. I bend my tube at an angle so I can get through the sweep seal to the part that we’re lubricating easier. We’ll pull the seal back, and right on top of the rack we’ll insert the tube. And this is where we’ll be spraying a coupler here. Just give it a couple shots. And then underneath the rack, pull the seal back and you’ll be able to see the gib in there. Get the tube at the gib, and a couple shots there. Do the same procedure on the inside, and that’s all there is to lubricating your Schwintek Slide-Out.
